Officers

Baronial Seat –

  • Event this month, there are still feast seats open. Please send award recommendations to Nigel and Drueta. All else is well as we prepare for the transition.

 
Seneschal –


  • Duncan the Baronial herald has announced his intention to step down; he has named his deputies as follows: Marion of Oaks to step up as submission herald, Kat to step up as voice herald. He will Herald investiture as his last act.
  • Demo passed up- The boy scouts asked up to provide a demo at their blue and gold dinner on 2/21/09, since we have a large Baronial event that day we advised them that we would provide a demo at a future date but are not available for this date.
  • Siege rule changes have come down- will leave this for Drueta and Nigel to advise.

 
Deputy Seneschal –

  • Seneschal Deputies reports:
  • o Caitriona- will wait to report as Chamberlain.
    o Fa’el- All is well on the Heavy weapons front
    o Collin- All is well on the Fencers front
    o Kat- all is well.

Exchequer –

  • Reported to Kingdom in January, Received the Baronial Chroniclers report.

    Balance in bank- $3,431.97
    We are preparing to pay for the events upcoming.
    Feast seats are still open for “season of change” Dru and Nigel’s investiture.

Herald –

  • Deputies reporting
    Marion: Multiple devices are in the works, she is tracking them, nothing new to advise on at this time.
    Kat: Teaching at Noisemakers in Bhakail next weekend, event runs from 11-4 please attend.

Chatelaine –

  • Quarterly report was made on time, this seat is up for vote.
    Knew about Boy Scout Demo, also sent them an email.
    Over next several weeks will be contacting the various libraries and seeing if they would like us to provide demo’s for them.

 Chronicler –

  • . Working to become “official” thank you to Drueta for finding the Chronicler’s handbook for me.
    Contacted Kingdom (Shannon Gallowglass) advised I exist, Peach responded to her also
    Made my first report of 5.00 in donations in the year of 2008 in February to Ailill- will report in January in future.
    I have to send copies of all the newsletters completed to date to the Kingdom for Archive.
    Currently seeking Deputy per Peaches request.
    1st day of the month is the deadline for submissions, Baronial newsletter is by the Barony for the Barony- all submissions are welcome.
    Skipton Castle – Watch for article in March newsletter, Will allow us to use their demo coloring pages and masks if the Skipton Castle logo left on them.
    Cookies for Castles- I will be baking and selling cookies to raise money for Skipton Castle at Baronial Events. If you want to donate either cookies or money please see me.

Web Mistress –

  • Redesigning website, never received the December minutes. January went up on the Yahoo group.
    Send Saikhan an email if you have a change that you would like to make.
    Doomsday boke will be out next month

Historian –

  • No report

Chancellor of Youth –

  • Absent
    Peach – still working to get her back ground completed.

Chamberlain –

  • In process of setting up the database inventory.
  • Peach thanked a late arriving Duncan for his service in the position of Herald. He will be missed, however we all have confidence in his well trained deputies.

Minister of A&S –

    No one came to Project night this past month.
    Project night has been cancelled for this month
    Received email from neighbor, looking at SCA site and noticed project night address. Has home schooled co-opd kids 5th – 8th grade kids and would like to bring them to an event. Creature will baby-sit them at Season of Change.
    Good news is that they are affiliated with a Baptist church that would be an excellent smaller site for us with an indoor gym.

    Calligrapher’s Group –

  • No report.

Cook’s Guild –

  • No Report.

Dance Practice –

  • No Report

Embroidery Guild –

    No Report

Drum Circle –

  • No report. On hiatus

Hark/EK Choral –

    • No report.  On hiatus.

Officers of War     top

Knight Marshall –

  • Brought Brownies
    Fight practice is going well- Sterling ran last week.
    Unbelts meeting in Eatontown this upcoming Sunday. We will still be having practice.
    No one’s cards have expired at this time; they should start expiring in June. We will run special re-authorization practices at that time.
    Tyrum has 3 deputies.
    Tagen reporting- all is well.

 Youth Fighting –

  • Last month did not happen. No one showed up.
    Tuesday 2/24/09 helping Bhakail to start up its youth program. Expecting 5 MIT’s and 7 Fighters to show up.
    Youth Heavy Weapons happens the last Sunday of each month.

 
 Rapier Marshall –

  • No injuries to report
    Site has been successfully transferred over to Rowan
    Site rent is paid through the end of month Feb.
    Collin is the Baronial Youth Fencing marshal
    Collin has nothing to report

 
Company Captain of the Archers

  • No Practices due to temps. We will not hold practice if the temp is under 45 degrees. Will hold practice this Sunday if the temp goes above 45 degrees
    Carillion has an indoor practice site, it is held on Wednesday- days- at Turkey Swamp.
    No deputies at this time

MOL –

  • Still working to gain access to lists, awaiting Kingdom MOL
    Collin- Called the Kingdom MOL, they are rebuilding the database, several marshals for Iron Bog are missing, paperwork is running very slow. She doesn’t even have the cardstock yet. She will take Collins word as South Region Marshall as to whether or not you are authorized at upcoming events. This will also affect Heavy Weapons. They are moving to divide everything by landed group.
    Khatife: They started working on the Heavy Weapons database at Birka.

 
Chirurgeon –

  • We have no one in this post.

Siege –

  • #1- Baronial Investiture- “ A Season of Change”- Dorothea (Autocrat) reporting
    Almost sold out on feast seats
    All running smoothly
    Needs checks- site 200.00. cook, and site tokens
    o Cat- needs access to site on Friday, pots/ pans etc. Creature will assist her since this is her Church and she has the pots and pans.
  • There are NO COMPS for this event for staff assistance.
  • *** Peach announced that Iron bog is too broke to ever allow comps for events, if you come to work you must pay entrance fee. *Discussion followed*
  • #2- Ice Falcons Ducal Challenge- June 6th- Kat reporting
    *See newsletter for event announcement and volunteer request.
    Has heads for all activities filled.
    All moving smoothly at this time
  • #3- Known World Rapier Academy & Costumers Symposium. Oct 9th – 11th
    Collin reporting
    Bhakail is joining with us to do this event.
    Waiting to hear from their financial committee
    There will be NO FOOD
    Ball w/ cash bar
    Everything will split 50/50 with Bhakail.

    Website is open for pre-reg.
  • ** Discussion of need for Pre-reg acknowledgment via email, Collin brought up fact that there is a pre-reg system in place for the SCA- Duncan recommended killing this topic at this time as there are many varied issues involving this system and meeting has run late- all agreed- will review this at a later date.
