Greetings, Good Gentles! Welcome to the fair Barony of Iron Bog. The Barony of Iron Bog is located in the Southern Region, in the Kingdom of the East, as part of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). It comprises the counties of Gloucester, Camden, and South Burlington, in New Jersey (view zip code list). The Society is an organization dedicated to researching and recreating life in the Middles Ages and Renaissance. The SCA draws its members from all over the world, and from many different occupations and interests, but with the common interest in the Middle Ages. As members, we relive the Middle Ages, through clothing, food, entertainment of all kinds, and social gatherings. Please, take a more in-depth look at the SCA via its link above.

The SCA is always welcoming new members. Please, feel free to contact any of the many officers of the Barony. The Chatelaine in particular is here to help new members and those interested.   • PENNSIC 37: If you are camping with Iron Bog, please pre-register under the name "Iron Bog". Mail-in pre-registrations ends May 15. On-line pre-reistrations ends June 15. After you have pre-regged, please send your tent sizes to Lord Tyrum.



  • (03/20/08) Baronial Seat Re-election - Please read the following:

    Greetings unto the list,

    At last night's meeting, Katherine informed us that her Baron Larry would not be seeking re-election to their positions. This announcement is earlier than is required as their term does not come to a close until March 2009. However, Katherine urged us to set in motion the process to find their successors as to give the incoming Baronial Seat ample time to prepare.

    So it is with a heavy heart, I am now accepting letters of intent for any and all that would like to run for the position of Baron and/or Baroness of Iron Bog. As per our Baronial Seat Selection Procedure, letters of intent will be accepted until the opening of our business meeting in April so that a list of candidates can be complied and announced at that meeting.

    On behalf of the barony I would like to thank Larry and Katherine for all of their time, service, and mentoring during their rein as Baron and Baroness.
